Coley Awarded Contract by the Department of Veterans Affairs to Manage Mentoring Program for its IT Workforce

(San Antonio, TX – September 22, 2015) – By 2017 almost 31% of the Federal Workforce will be eligible to retire. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information Technology (OI&T) Information Technology Workforce Development (ITWD) has taken action to capture and transfer the knowledge and experience of its retiring employees by awarding a five year contract to Coley & Associates, Inc. (Coley) to design, build, and manage its mentoring program.

Mentoring as a learning approach is an excellent method for engaging, developing, and retaining an organization’s talent and know-how. The mentoring program being implemented by Coley will foster an open environment where information is shared and knowledge is transferred, preserved and leveraged, and the wisdom and experience of seasoned employees is shared. Such a resource leverages diversity and experience to provide learning and development opportunities, and facilitates personal and professional growth.

“We are excited to support the VA with our latest product offering for enhancing the Government workforce.  Our mentoring services are the perfect solution for helping the Government recapture its substantial investment in workforce development by leveraging the experience and expertise of those retiring soon.” said Jack Coley, CEO.

This award builds on Coley’s record of delivering innovative workforce development solutions to Government organizations.
